Located along the Pacific Coast Highway on a small bluff much closer to sea level north of Sunset Boulevard is this small Pacific Palisades community of Castellammare. This winding and narrow road features a small neighborhood with ocean breezes and old-school Italian families. If you want to feel like you are set back in Italy, Castellammare is a great neighborhood. Nearly all the homes have stunning ocean views, beautiful Italian street names and a wide range of designs from small cottages to European-style Estates. Home prices in Castellammare start at about $1.2 million up to $5 million or even more. The famous “Castellammare Castle” has sold for about $12 million, but that was back in 2007.
Castellammare has one of the highest concentrations of oceanview homes in the Pacific Palisades area. Most of the homes are built on a gradual hillside featuring unobstructed views from nearly every home in the community. Home prices are typically between $2 million and $3.2 million with rental prices at about $5000 per month.
If you like history, Italian architecture, and feeling like you are on an Italian vacation year-round, Castellammare might be the perfect location to call home. There are several hikes in this community, sweet-salty air, and Castellammare offers a unique walking to her at about 1.5 miles exploring the stairways and dirt paths of this unique neighborhood.
Castellammare is home to about 2100 residents and 85% of those that live here are homeowners. The average age is about 60 years old and there’s a few coffee shops, restaurants, and access to local shopping and markets but it is primarily a residential community. Residents love this area for its views, peaceful beach atmosphere, friendly community, dog-friendly neighborhood, hiking options, and a wide range of beautiful home designs.
HOA
Some homes in Castellammare will require monthly homeowners dues of up to $2000 depending on the property but, this is in every home so be sure to check with current listings on specific Association or required dues.
Schools
Residents are part of the Los Angeles Unified School District and students are assigned to the Marquez Charter school, the Paul Revere middle school, and the Palisades Charter high school.
